Hope is a dangerous way to make a holy ghost
when you're alone.
It can keep you locked up in a kind of sweet mirage
where you can spend all your years in want.

And it can run you dry
chasing rainbows in the dark.

But you, you pull me through
every time I don't know what to do.
You keep my thoughts up
and you keep me grounded in now
and help me set all my anger down.

And here I find
a better way to spend my time.

Well I can wait for the sun to shine
every little thing I'd ever want is in my life
and maybe God's a freak cause he made me

I'm so surprised by
how my simple life
of love, hugs and cats are enough.
To get me through trials
all I need is my bride
to smile at my same stupid jokes.

to keep me out of my head
when I'm second guessing all my friends and foes
